Hurricane Matthew Advisory

Based on the latest forecast and conditions, Hurricane Matthew is expected to reach category 4 status as it makes landfall on the southeastern portion of the US as early as Thursday evening or Friday morning. Based on its projected path, Hurricane Matthew will hit parts of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina and possibly others. Florida has already declared a state of emergency and South Carolina has begun evacuating coastal counties such as Charleston and Beaufort.

Most lower east coast ports have issued closure statements. Airlines also plan to divert or ground many flights in and out of the region. The storm is expected to pass over by Saturday, however depending on the severity of destruction left in the storms wake, businesses still may not be operational by Monday.

Road conditions / closures / lane reversals will also impact normal access routes to port facilities for motor carriers.

Thank you for your patience during this weather event. If you have any questions regarding your freight, please contact your local TransGroup station.
